President Donald Trump announced new tariffs for much of the world.

The plan: To impose steep tariffs on goods from about 70 countries starting next Friday, and a punitive 35% tariff on Canada starting today. Some economists warn trouble is ahead.
Around the globe: In India, optimism over Trump's presidency is quickly unraveling. In China, talks with the U.S. are continuing — and officials are targeting counterfeit Labubus.

Last month: The National Museum of American History removed mentions of Trump's two impeachments from a display. Museum officials said they will put the references back.

A 515-mile-long lightning strike was the longest ever recorded.

What you're looking at: A single lightning bolt that hit the southern U.S. in 2017, scientists revealed yesterday. The flash lit up an area five times greater than Massachusetts.
How is that possible? A "megaflash" can emerge from storm systems with big, horizontal areas of electric charge. This one produced 64 bolts that struck the ground.
