SUNDAY LOOK AHEAD |
Binance owes a proof of reserves Monday, the midterms land Tuesday and Treasury sets its borrowing plans Wednesday. A December hike sits near 70 cents. |
The new week starts with AI sold, bonds bid and gold broken.
The Philadelphia chip index fell 7.2% on Friday. Intel closed down nearly 29%. The Nasdaq lost 2.9% and the S&P 500 1.8%. An equal-weight S&P 500 fund fell only 0.8%.
The 10-year yield fell to 4.93%. Gold fell more than 3% to a 52-week low. When only bonds work as a haven, the selling looks like raising cash.
The Fed has not blessed that rally. Two members voted for a hike on Wednesday. On Friday, Alberto Musalem said more tightening will be "necessary, and soon." Kalshi's December hike contract ended near 70 cents.
Crypto enters the week near a line that matters. Bitcoin traded near $76,800 on Friday, less than 2% above Strategy's average cost.
Three dated events crowd the first half of the week. Binance owes proof on Monday. The vote is Tuesday. Treasury speaks Wednesday. Three bigger questions run on no clock.
You've likely seen their faces on Fox Business, CNBC and Bloomberg. One is the economist who told his readers to sell everything a few weeks before Black Monday. The other has written up 50 stocks before they soared 1,000% or more over the past twenty years. They've never sat down together... until now. And what they're seeing in this market, they say could make or break your retirement.

Does Binance Prove It Can Cover the Hole?
Scheduled: Monday, Nov. 2. Binance's promised full proof of reserves.
Binance estimated its breach at about $6.3 billion. It says it has reserved more than $6.34 billion, with $5 billion already held in the exact tokens taken. It is buying the remaining $1.34 billion or so in the market. It aimed to restore withdrawals by Sunday.
What the market assumes. That the coin is safer than the stocks around it. Bitcoin slipped about 1.2% on Friday. Coinbase (COIN) fell 10.6% after touching a 52-week low. Strategy (MSTR) fell 7.8%.
The surprise. A proof that falls short, or a delay. Much of the stolen value outside the stablecoins is bitcoin and ether that would have to be sold to be cashed out.
The signal. Bitcoin against $75,450, Strategy's average cost. A break below it pushes the biggest corporate holder toward a paper loss. Strategy also starts paying its STRC preferred daily, with a first record date of Nov. 1, subject to filing.
Does the Vote Clear the Calendar or Just Move It?
Scheduled: Midterm elections, Tuesday, Nov. 3.
The White House said the U.S. will not attack Iran before the vote. The Wall Street Journal reported that Washington told Gulf governments to prepare for a short, intense campaign after it. President Trump has not made a final decision, the report said.
What the market assumes. Calm until the vote, risk after it. On Thursday morning, Polymarket's ceasefire contract for Nov. 8 traded at 81.5 cents and the Nov. 15 contract at 58.5. That put about 23 points of strike risk into the week of Nov. 9 to Nov. 15 alone. Contracts on Democratic control of the Senate ended Friday near 71 cents on Polymarket and Kalshi.
The surprise. A gap that closes. If the Nov. 15 contract climbs toward the Nov. 8 price, traders are treating the outreach to Tehran as real diplomacy, not a pause.
The signal. The Nov. 8 to Nov. 15 gap. A wider gap after the vote means the strike window opened on schedule.

How Much Will Treasury Need?
Scheduled: Treasury's borrowing plans, Wednesday, Nov. 4.
This is the week's supply event. Treasury's buyback program also resets in size at the refunding. Recent buybacks have run below their caps.
What the market assumes. That buyers still want Treasurys. The 10-year fell to 4.93% on Friday. Foreign and other indirect bidders took about 60% of last week's 5-year sale. They took only 45.7% of the 2-year.
The surprise. Bigger long-bond sales. AI borrowers are drawing on the same pool of long-term money. Alphabet's long-term debt reached $125.1 billion, from $46.5 billion at the end of 2025. Microsoft's $25 billion bond sale drew about $115 billion of orders, Bloomberg reported.
The signal. The 30-year against the 2-year. On Fed day the 30-year rose 7 basis points while the 2-year fell 3. A repeat after the refunding would say the long end is pricing supply, not the Fed.
Can the Bond Rally Survive a Hawkish Fed?
Open-ended. The Fed's next decision is in December.
The Fed held in a 10-2 vote, with Lisa Cook and Beth Hammack voting to hike. Chair Kevin Warsh called inflation too high and made no December promise.
What the market assumes. A December hike is more likely than not. Kalshi's December contract ended Friday near 70 cents, down from about 83% after the statement on an average of Kalshi and Polymarket. The 10-year fell anyway.
The surprise. More officials joining the dissenters in public. Musalem already has. Two more voices would leave little room between the bond rally and the Fed's lean.
The signal. Gold against Treasurys. If gold keeps sliding while hike odds hold near 70 cents, bonds are a cash bid the Fed can take back.
People paid $8,000… yours for FREE
Some people have paid $8,000 to be in the room with Luke Lango in Las Vegas. But he believes the new Elon venture he's uncovered (not space or AI) is so big that EVERYONE needs to know about it. See how to get in while we're still early here.

Does the AI Selling Stay Narrow?
Open-ended. No date set.
The selling hit AI's biggest names hardest. Alphabet (GOOGL) fell 12.6% on Thursday after negative free cash flow and new debt. Intel (INTC) fell nearly 29% and took the PC chain with it.
What the market assumes. A rotation, not a crash. On Thursday, the equal-weight S&P 500 rose 1.2% while the Nasdaq fell 1.4%. On Friday, energy, health care and utilities finished higher.
The surprise. Breadth breaking with the leaders. On Oct. 23, new lows beat new highs about three to one. A repeat would mean the selling has left AI.
The signal. The equal-weight S&P 500 against the standard index. Also watch Meta (META) against its $625 offer price. It closed below that line the day the deal priced. Polymarket priced an Anthropic listing by Nov. 30 near 91 cents on Monday.
Is Oil Pricing Supply or a Strike?
Open-ended. Tied to the post-vote window.
Brent's January contract traded near $112 early Friday. Polymarket's Oct. 31 ceasefire contract fell 28 points on a reported strike briefing Thursday evening, then recovered most of it by morning. Oil did not give back its gain.
What the market assumes. Missing barrels, not a U.S. strike. Tanker attacks and mine claims near Hormuz are still unresolved. Exxon Mobil (XOM) earned more from refining than from production last quarter.
The surprise. Heating oil outrunning crude. Last week the diesel benchmark barely moved as crude rose. A jump would say Gulf refining damage has become a supply problem.
The signal. Brent against the 10-year. Bonds have rallied through every oil spike since Oct. 1. If yields rise with oil after the vote, the inflation reading is back.
Last week the market priced AI by who pays. This week it prices Washington by when it acts.
Tuesday's vote opens the window the Iran contracts priced. Wednesday's refunding shows how much paper the long end must absorb. Binance's proof on Monday decides whether crypto's selling was fear or a hole.
If the 10-year holds near 4.93% through all three, bonds are still the haven. If it rises with oil, the Fed's hawks get the last word.
Rates Just Reset. Who Feels It First?
On January 2, the 10-year Treasury yielded 4.19%. By September 30, it was 5.29%. Most of that move landed in a single quarter.
The bond market repriced and companies are starting to report it.
Some companies earn from higher rates. Some pay for them. And each one runs on a different clock.
We traced three of them, IBKR, WRB and FIS, in a new FREE Special Report:
Rates Just Reset. Who Feels It First?
Who earns it fast. Who earns it slowly. Who pays. One has already reported. The other two report next, and the report tells you the exact line to check.
