Eat: Area 31's New Menu

Exec Chef E. Michael Reidt just overhauled Area's menu to fill you with apps like confit pork belly w/ banana-lentil salad, cracklin, and chili caramel, plus big guys including duck breast w/ pickled shishito, cider glaze, and foie gras forbidden rice; "A to the 3 to the 1" w/ white water clams, local fish, tiger shrimp, and moqueca-inspired broth; and ham-wrapped mahi with split pea cassoulet, chorizo, pomegranate, and blood orange, also a film in which Djimon Hounsou buries a huuuuge orange in South Africa, and nobody cares.

Drink!: New Cocktails At The Living Room

The W's marble-walled lounge just unveiled a new roster of cocktails from its diversely skilled team of mixologists, including the Dram Sour (rye w/ sweet vermouth, allspice dram, fresh lemon, egg white), the Smokey Artichoke (mezcal w/ sweet vermouth, Cynar amaro, and tobacco bitters), and the fresh avocado/ reposado tequila/ caramelized pineapple/ fresh lime juice/ cilantro/ jalapeño Smoking Mirror, making it one of the rare mirrors that's stepped back from the harder stuff.

Two-Wheelin': Bicycle Film Festival
In addition to fixie races on Thursday night through the darkened streets of the Wynwood Arts District (complete with cash prize!), BFF's rolling into town to display Friday night films like Empire (with dudes doing legitimately insane things on fixies in New York), plus Mat Hoffman brutalizing his body and going higher on a BMX bike than can possibly be safe in The Birth of Big Air, coincidentally also the name of a book chronicling how Michael Jordan got to be so fat these days.

Listen Up: Parrot by Starck

Superdesigner Philippe Starck teamed up with sonic-mavens Parrot to create these super-sleek tower loudspeakers, which let you use WiFi to stream music direct from your computer, or from your cell phone/iPad via Bluetooth, and provide crazy-high-tech 360-degree sound via what they call "vibrating air", or Michael Jordan's nickname these days when Charles Barkley tells a good joke.
