Dear Indiana, Thank you! More and more learners around the world are turning to resources like MIT OpenCourseWare to help fill in gaps left by traditional educational systems. Whether supplementing the instruction they receive at their own schools, finding affordable alternatives to residential programs, or improving their knowledge while holding down jobs, these learners are coming to the OCW site in the millions. Your visit and use of our site demonstrates to our sponsors and funders how much our visitors value the site and helps ensure that OCW will be there waiting for them. Last year alone, the site received 22.3 million visits, a 25% increase from the previous year; and we estimate that since we launched our website in 2003, we've reached 150 million individuals worldwide. And though we've had a great 2012, we have much more to accomplish in the coming year. We're planning to: continue publishing the courses that make up MIT's new energy minor, courses that address some of the world's great challenges, publish more courses with full video lectures and enhance the accessibility of our current video lectures with captions, evaluate and report on the access, use, and impact of our resources so that we can continue to improve our offerings, develop resources specifically for educators to help them teach the next generation of leaders and problem solvers, redesign our Highlights for High School website to make it more useful to students and teachers, and continue to secure financial support to sustain our work for the next decade of open sharing. These are just a few of the goals we've set for 2013, and as we continue to move forward, we appreciate your support and encourage your feedback.
